Description of Work | The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications seeks an experienced data journalist to become an assistant professor of practice . The responsibilities of this position will include teaching 6-8 courses per year, depending on other assigned duties, at the undergraduate and graduate level, including introductory and capstone courses. In addition, a successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, assessment activities, service to the profession, and actively mentor students. |
Minimum Required Qualifications | Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communications or related field; strong professional experience in journalism, mass communications or related field; evidence of successful teaching and demonstrated skill in data journalism. |
Preferred Qualifications | Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in journalism, mass communications or related field; significant professional experience in journalism, mass communications or related field; demonstrated expertise in data journalism; evidence of successful undergraduate or graduate teaching experience; online teaching experience; experience with curriculum development; and a record of external support. |
