Description of Work

Position is responsible for leading the planning, implementing, and/or overseeing of the academic and summer programming functions of the Upward Bound project. Trains and supervises summer student worker staff in order to insure quality program delivery. Lead responsibilities in coordinating a series of meetings, workshops, and informal activities promoting cooperative opportunities for participants and parents to achieve project objectives.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field plus two years of program planning, supervising and experience with TRIO or equivalent programs serving low-income populations required. Must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the needs of first generation low-income youth and individual differences. Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential. Experience working with adolescents and unrepresented populations necessary. Must have or be able to acquire license to drive UNL vans.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred. Experience and/or training in career exploration, assessments, curriculum, or college preparation desirable.
