Description of Work

Responsible for implementing recruitment strategy within assigned territory and provide quarterly updates to the Admissions office Senior Management Team. Utilize recruitment strategies to effectively provide college counseling to prospective students and their parents. Responsible for presenting the benefits of UNL to prospective students and their families within assigned territory. This position will represent UNL at high school visits, college fairs, community college visits, and other external events. The Recruitment Specialist would be responsible for training UNL alumni across the country regarding admissions and recruitment. Responsible for interpreting admission, financial aid, and university policy to the general public. This position is located on the UNL campus but extensive travel is required. This position requires many nights and weekends during peak times.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus one year of marketing, sales, recruitment, or related field required. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Public speaking experience essential. Ability to work independently necessary. Ability to relate to people of all age groups, academic abilities and cultures required. Experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software necessary. Must have ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned projects on time. Ability to learn new technologies required.

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive campus involvement as an undergraduate at UNL helpful. Experience working as a student recruitment ambassador or tour guide in Admissions, Housing, Orientation leader or academic college desirable. Prefer experience with extensive travel.
