Description of Work

This position is responsible for design, implementation, and support of database systems and their integration essential to the University data analytics environment. This includes selection of software and hardware, evaluation of third-party solutions and services, providing input on data structures and database architecture, and performing programming necessary to manage these components. This is a highly integrated position that will work closely with a team and stakeholders to determine solutions that meet business requirements.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business, Computer Science, MIS or related field plus 3 years of experience in computer software and systems configuration and administration required; equivalent education/experience considered. Demonstrated knowledge of various computer architectures, operating systems and programming languages necessary. Experience in packaging, processing, and exchanging data between databases essential. Must have experience in designing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server systems and databases. Excellent written/verbal communications and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team oriented environment necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience troubleshooting and supporting enterprise analytics applications preferred. Experience with multi-dimensional data models (OLAP cubes) desirable. Prefer experience with Oracle and DB2. Experience with java, ASP.NET, PHP, Perl and other languages helpful. Data management skills, proficiency and knowledge of reporting techniques to include technical, informational and graphical preferred.
