Description of Work

Perform routine work in cleaning and general upkeep of Campus Recreation buildings including offices, halls, conference rooms, classrooms, restrooms, locker and shower rooms. Scrub and polish floors using heavy industrial-type powered scrubbing and buffing machines. Vacuum and clean carpets using industrial-type vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors. Mix cleaning solutions per instruction. Collect and dispose of refuse requiring heavy physical efforts. Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more. Must be able to work at any Campus Recreation facility.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Eighth grade education or equivalent experience required. Ability to follow oral and written instructions essential. Ability to understand cleaning chemicals and their application and dilution ratios; and ability to gain knowledge and skill to operate large cleaning equipment necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer high school diploma or equivalent experience; and previous custodial/housekeeping experience.
