Description of Work

Using aseptic handling processes clean, handle and store a large volume of sample preparation and reagent preparation vessels on a daily basis. Evaluate suitability of samples for testing in existing assays and identify appropriate methodology to maximize extraction efficiency. Independently assess and address appropriate sample preparation. Identify potential areas of contamination. Perform daily quality control verifications of equipment. Maintain stock of laboratory supplies. Share responsibility in training, oversight and guidance of undergraduate student activities.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a science field plus one year laboratory experience that includes reagent preparation required; equivalent education/experience considered. Specifically, an associate’s in any area of science plus three years qualifying laboratory experience is acceptable. Experience in independently assessing and addressing appropriate sample preparation and experience identifying potential areas of contamination required.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer experience tracking multiple projects and shifting priorities/work loads and experience using aseptic techniques.
