Description of Work

The Department of Supply Chain Management and Analytics within the College of Business at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln invites applications for three faculty positions, including two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level and one open rank tenured/tenure-track position. All three positions will have an August 2018 start date. We seek outstanding candidates in all areas of business analytics, supply chain management and operations management.

The Department of Supply Chain Management and Analytics consists of 8 tenured and tenure-track faculty, along with two professors of practice and one full-time lecturer. The Supply Chain Management undergraduate program was started in 2012 and currently has over 130 declared majors, with a 100% placement record for its recent graduates. The department also offers a popular undergraduate minor in Business Analytics and is in the process of obtaining approval for an M.S. in Business Analytics, with admissions anticipated for the 2018-2019 academic year.

This will be an academic year (nine month) appointment. Salary, benefits, and research support are competitive and consistent with other Big Ten universities. Attainment of tenure within the College of Business will require publications in top-level journals. Tenure review is conducted during the sixth year, with a three year review to provide early feedback.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Applicants for all positions must have a doctorate in a supply chain management, operations management, business analytics, operations research, industrial engineering or a related field (such as econometrics, statistics or computer science), or will have completed all of the requirements for the Ph.D. at the time of appointment.

Applicants for all positions must demonstrate the potential to publish quality research in refereed journals, as well as the ability to teach college-level courses.

Applicants seeking a tenured position (associate or full professor) must possess an established record of publications in leading refereed journals.

Preferred Qualifications

The ability and desire to teach graduate level courses, including in an online or blended environment, is preferred, particularly for applicants seeking a tenured position. Work experience in supply chain management and/or business analytics, and publications in top-level journals are also preferred.
