Description of Work

The Writing and Projects Specialist will write news stories in journalistic style using the Associated Press Stylebook and assist the Executive Director with marketing projects and other office work. This person will serve as the front office staff member and coordinate the project management process for staff, track expenditures and create quarterly reports, plan and organize mailings, and assist with event planning, the oversight of student workers and miscellaneous college projects.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related field plus 2 years of writing and proofreading experience required; equivalent education/experience considered. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe InDesign software.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with communications and marketing in a higher education setting preferred. Project management experience desirable. Prefer design experience and experience with event photography.
