Description of Work

Provide undergraduate student recruitment support towards the recruitment goals of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR). This position will focus on in-state undergraduate recruitment efforts, provide college counseling to prospective students and families, assist with campus visits and represent CASNR and Nebraska 4-H at on- and off-campus events. Responsibilities also include partnering with Nebraska Extension, 4-H, alumni and other organizations. Attend Extension-sponsored youth events/field days/other activities, participate in the Career and College Readiness Issues team, and coordinate recruitment efforts with Extension staff. Assist with development of marketing materials. Some travel and evening/weekend work required. The position is temporary for up to two years.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, natural resources, science, education, marketing, or public relations/communications related field plus one year of public relations, recruitment, student services, sales, marketing, agriculture, natural resources, science, or related field experience required. Experience must demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to engage large audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer two years of public relations and/or recruitment experience. Knowledge of InDesign helpful. Knowledge of UNL and CASNR preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational, attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills desirable. Ability to multi-task and work independently preferred.
