Description of Work

Position advises prospective undergraduate, students about scholarships and the various federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs offered through the University, in person, by phone, and through written correspondence. This position will be housed in conjunction with the Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid and the Office of Admissions and will participate in recruitment activities both on and off campus including but not limited to daily campus visits, Red Letter Days, admit receptions, diversity and honors events, admit receptions, or high school visits. The Advisor will work with the Associate Director of Admissions and the Assistant Director of Scholarship and Financial Aid to award and process first year recruiting scholarships and will work with staff in OSFA to process financial aid. This position may require some travel. Evening and/or weekend hours may be required during events.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus one year of customer service experience or evidence of strong interpersonal skills required. Public speaking experience essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a college or university financial aid office or comparable setting preferred. Computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets or databases desirable.
