Description of Work

The Department of English at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln anticipates making several non-tenure track faculty appointments at the rank of lecturer for the 2017-2018 academic year. Teaching duties include undergraduate composition and may include some lower-division literature courses. Applicants who are selected for the temporary faculty pool may be assigned from one to four courses per semester.

Minimum Required Qualifications

The minimum requirements include an M.A. in English plus some graduate courses beyond the M.A., and at least three years of successful college teaching experience in undergraduate composition.

Preferred Qualifications

A Ph.D in English or its equivalent is preferred; in recent years all appointees at a minimum have completed all the requirements for the Ph.D except the dissertation. Also preferred is a record of ongoing professional development related to teaching, as is successful teaching experience in lower-division literature courses.
