Description of Work

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in introductory, intermediate and advanced levels of Czech; will have fluent/near-native proficiency in Czech and English; the ability to design and deliver language and culture curricula; will additionally have the ability to direct activities of the Komensky program, offer courses online, lead study abroad programs, and cooperate across sections in MLL and programs at UNL.

Minimum Required Qualifications

- PhD in Czech or a related field;
- Fluent/near native proficiency in Czech and English;
- Evidence of excellence in teaching;
- Ability to design and deliver language and culture curricula;
- Ability to teach courses currently offered (Beginning Czech I and II: Second Year Czech I and II; lower- and upper-division literature and culture courses)

Preferred Qualifications

- Ability to teach face-to-face, online, and blended courses;
- Experience with faculty-led study abroad programs;
- Ability to offer courses in English in programs such as Women’s and Gender Studies, Ethnic Studies, Global Studies, as well as in MLL
- Preference will be given to applicants who will have their degree in hand by August 2017
