Description of Work

The research focus for this position is in the broad area of cybersecurity, including i) cyber defensive systems, trustworthy systems, attack awareness; ii) application security, computer security, information security, network security; iii) cyber intrusions/detections & forensics, information assurance in big data; iv) security of embedded systems with the emphasis on devices connected to wired and wireless networks, cyber-infrastructures such as energy, transportation, building design, automation, healthcare and manufacturing, and the Internet of Things (IoT); and v) cryptography.

Candidates are encouraged to collaborate with faculty in in the ECE department and the College of Engineering, as well as to develop interdisciplinary projects with the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE and the Nebraska Strategic Research Institute (a University Affiliated Research Center supporting the missions of the US Strategic Command at Offutt AFB in Bellevue, NE)

Minimum Required Qualifications

Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field.

Applicants should have a record of strong scholarly achievement and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education in Electrical and Computer Engineering and the potential to establish a strong externally funded research program.

Candidates for the position of Associate Professor will be expected to have a history of funded research and a strong international reputation.

Preferred Qualifications
